JONESBORO: Jonesboro Farmers Market is still open on Tuesdays from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. and Saturdays from 8:00 A.M. until Noon. As long as the local growers keep producing we will be open. Did you know that most of the Farmers Market produce is picked ripe and sold that day, you can meet the farmers who grow your food, ask when it was picked, how it was grown, and ways to prepare it? Also, Farmers Markets put more money in the farmers pockets. Commercial farmers get only a percentage of every dollar’s worth of produce sold in supermarkets. At the Farmers’ market, they get the whole dollar. Buying locally grown produce encourages regional farming. For more information call 770-473-5434 or email hortpa@uga.edu .
