Gardening Enthusiast!
While you are in town for the 2011 GMGA Spring Conference being held on April 29th and 30th, there are a ton of activities going on in Rome. On Friday, there is the Clocktower Classic Handcycling Race all around town, Rome Braves have a home game at the State Mutual Stadium, Rome Art Coterie National Juried Show at River City Bank, Voice from the Trail at the Chieftains Museum, Dance Gala at Berry College, Relay for Life at Ridge Ferry Park and DeSoto Nights comedy show at the Historic DeSoto Theater in downtown Rome. That’s just Friday!
On Saturday, along with the GMGA conference, downtown Rome will become a street festival with all sorts of fun activities, the Clocktower Classic Handcycling Race will continue, the Tri for Kids Olympic Triathlon will start, the Rome Braves have another home game, and the Rome Symphony will perform a concert later in the evening. If the GMGA Conference wasn’t reason enough to spend a day or two in Rome, all these great activities certainly add to the excitement.
Check out the times and locations for these entertaining events at: http://romegeorgia.org. And while you’re online, take a look at all the conference information at: http://georgiamastergardeners.org. If you haven’t registered yet, there is still plenty of time. You can register by mail or online. See you at the conference.
Ginny Word,
GMGA Vice-President Elect
2011 Spring Conference Chair
