GMGA CONFERENCE IN ROME--Georgia Master Gardener Association Conference hosted by Floyd County Master Gardeners is ON for this weekend. W.H. Smith, GMGA President spoke with conference organizer, Ginny Word this morning and it seems that all of the facilities at the EcoCenter are fine and power is on. All of the conference hotels seem to be fine as well.

LAGRANGE: Troup County Master Gardener Association Annual Plant Sale Saturday, April 30 9:00 am - 3:00 p.m. at the Troup County Agricultural Building on Vulcan Road (off Hwy 27- Hamilton Road.) The sale will include "tried and true favorites" from the gardens of master gardeners as well as roses, hydrangeas, native azaleas, blooming annuals and rain barrels from local vendors. Live auctions will be held throughout the day.

GWINNETT: Master Gardeners Meeting MAY 16, 2011 Paula Refi on "Out-of-the-Ordinary Plants for Shade"She will take a fresh look at shade gardening and see what’s new beyond the traditional azaleas, camellias and hostas. A Lifetime Georgia Master Gardener, she has lectured at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, the State Botanical Garden of Georgia and the Southeastern Flower Show. She is past president of the Georgia Perennial Plant Association and has published articles in American Gardener, Fine Gardening, Wildflower, and Landscape Architecture.
