ATHENS: Cost Estimating and Job Bidding Hands-on Workshops for Landscape Professionals March 17-18, 2011, UGA Athens Campus. Hands-on cost estimating and bidding workshops for landscape professionals on the Athens campus of UGA. Participants will learn how to use Excel-based cost-estimating and bidding spreadsheets developed by UGA faculty. Day 1 will focus on installation cost estimating; Day 2 will concentrate on landscape maintenance cost estimating and job bidding. Participants may choose to attend one day or both days. Registration includes hand-outs, refreshments, lunch each day, and take-home copies of the computer programs. Registration is limited to 40 participants each day, so early registration is encouraged. ATLANTA: Chattahoochee Unit of The Herb Society of America hosts its Annual Plant Sale April 9 and 10, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, 1345 Piedmont Ave. Rare and unusual herbs and specialty crafts will be available for purchase and members will be on hand to answer questions.
